Two years ago, Len and I attended a silent auction where we bid on (and won) a photo session from the same photographer who took our wedding photos. The timing was perfect: we were celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary... what a perfect way to capture this anniversary with the same photographer who captured our wedding.
The session was great fun, and we were very pleased with the photographer. However, when I received the photos, I was horrified. The photos themselves were beautiful, it was the images of myself that horrified me. The photos I had been so excited about printing, framing and sending out to family were hastily stowed away as I persisted in denial.
Then I was diagnosed with diabetes. And well, we know where we've been since then.
Sometimes a visual reminder is a good thing. Today we happened to be at the same locale as our original photos two years ago, so I tried to remember some of the poses and have my sister take photos similar. I was first going to title the photos 'before' and 'after', but I don't consider the weight I am today the 'after'. Not there yet.
So, let's stick with then & now.
I love how much more healthy Len looks in the current photos, also. He has better colour and looks more relaxed, thanks to proper pain management medication!
What a difference two years makes!! Praise the Lord, from whom all blessing flow!

I love this years picture and can really see all of your hard work. You are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou both look great! What great and happy smiles in the last photo! :)
ReplyDeleteThelma, you are looking great! Excellent pictures of both of you!
ReplyDeleteI can also remember times I've been horrified seeing pics of myself, and promptly retreating into the Land of Denial. As much as I hated those pics, I'm glad now that I didn't delete them.
ReplyDeleteYou both look awesome!
Oh, how I can relate. Both of you look amazing...grinning and glowing from ear to ear !
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic! What's weird is that I don't remember you looking like you did in the first picture. Well, you've always been beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI just love your smiles and how happy you both are.

Absolutely fabulous, Thelma! Thanks for sharing these...I didn't realize how far you had come, but you are doing great!
