funny{awesome}

Let's start with funny.  And by funny I mean moving your glass of water to a different table and grabbing a box of Kleenex.  If you have asthma, maybe keep your inhaler nearby.  I'm all about injury prevention when it comes to side-splitting laughter.

A friend linked Catalog Living on Facebook the other week.  The genius behind this site takes those bizarre photos from catalogs and interior design magazines and provides a single line of hilarious commentary based on the fictional lives of Gary and Elaine.  If you've ever scratched your head while browsing a magazine or catalogue you'll love this site. The humour is wonderfully cumulative as well... once you've been reading for ten minutes you won't be able to breathe.  You're welcome.

(Please note how I tactfully used both the Canadian and American spelling for catalogue, so as to please all my readers.  You're pleased, right?)

And now... awesome.

I found Gitzen Girl through {in}courage.  If you ever need a reminder on what living life with joy and courage in the face of suffering looks like, go visit with Sara for a bit.  Sara suffers from a progressive disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis; I'm going to let you Google that if you want to know more, but essentially it's an auto-immune disorder which has her confined to her home (breathing issues, allergies, etc make it impossible for her to leave the house) and often to her bed. I find her posts a delight, her perspective humbling, inspiring and refreshing.  She and her sweet dog Riley are definitely worth a bookmark.

Coincidentally, {in}courage is in the midst of thirty days of giveaways, which will last until the 13th of September. Hop on over and try your hand at winning a neat variety of prizes!

The Pioneer Woman was giving away a Nikon D90 on her blog the other day. I almost wept when I saw that. I almost wept again when I didn't win.  I wonder if my mother would feel the same about my 'paying my dues' to photography if I won a beautiful Nikon DSLR instead of buying one?
