And now we are three...

Our little family said goodbye to a sweet friend today...
Over the weekend we thought we were seeing significant progress in Brady's improving health; however, after a rough night and morning, we realized it was time to say goodbye to our sweet boy since his relapse was worse than his original diagnosis.  It wasn't fair on him to put him through much more, and so our amazing vet clinic helped us through the process of saying goodbye.

It was the right thing to do. We snuggled and talked to him for as long as we could.

Still trying to figure out how doing the right thing can be so deeply painful...

  1. Making the decision to end my cat's life was the the hardest single thing I have ever done in my entire life. He was 16 years old and crippled with arthritis, so we knew it was senseless to keep him "alive" when his quality of life was depleted. Yet I still cry over losing him, and it's been 3 years. They become such an integral part of our lives and touch us in ways that non-animal lovers can never comprehend. I bought a plaque after he died that simply stated this: If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. Grieving with you, Thelma. (((hugs)))

  2. I'm so sorry. Pets are family, their deaths are devastating.

  4. Oh Thelma, I'm so sorry to read this update :-(
Hugs to you, Len, and Sacha as you adjust to life without Brady. He obviously had the best life a cat could have, with you as his fur-mommy!
