My Favourite Things: Monday

Let's head back into this kitchen this Monday, shall we?

One thing I love about my kitchen is the great afternoon and early evening light.  It's a nice bright room and the natural lighting is the reason most of my photos are taken there.  If you were wondering whether our house was only a kitchen, you can now sleep better at night.  You're welcome.

Saturday afternoon Len decided to boil some eggs for lunch.  For fun, I hauled out my egg-y accessories (because they make me happy) and realized this was the perfect thing for MFT:M.  (Yep. Just turned it into an acronym.)

I started out with the Tupperware egg holders. I can't remember when I bought them, but I've had them for years and years.  Then, on an impromptu trip through Ikea I discovered the salt and pepper set, which I immediately fell in love with.  Imagine my pleasure as discovering that the colours matched perfectly!

We've been using the salt and pepper set for everyday use ever since my other salt/pepper set gave up on me. (If you can no longer take the lid off to refill it, it doesn't matter how cute they are!)  We've been looking for a new set that would be more appropriate for the dinner table, but so far haven't found one that we both like.  I dislike the whole stainless look, he dislikes the wood.  Neither of us like the clear plastic look, so I think we might be serving eggs for dinner for a long, long time!

Or... we could just turn every meal into brunch!
