Happenstance...

I love to blog hop.  Sometimes I wear a poodle skirt whilst I blog hop.

No, I don't. That's a fiblet.  Apologies...

I know I've written about this before, but I love popping around from blog to blog and discovering all sorts of bloggie jewels along the way.  Doing so, you realize that the world is delightfully smaller than you think it is.

These links that I've been frequenting (some only recently) are found by blog hopping. (Or, as one always needs a good excuse to use this marvelous word, happenstance.)
  • I discovered Tim Challies when I was trying to sort out how I felt after read William P. Young's The Shack.  I was grateful for his review that confirmed that the areas of uncertainty I had about this book were well-founded.  I was pulled in by his familiar yet deliberate writing style, and I log on infrequently to catch up on what he's been sharing.  I think it may be considered a Father's Day post, but I found his recent honest transparency moving in his post on Trusting God What Matters Most.'
  • From Tim's blog (and through I think at least two others) I found Lydia Brownback's blog, The Purple Cellar.  Lydia is the author of that small devotional on contentment that I posted about a few weeks back, and, as it turns out, she has a few similar books on trust, joy and purity.  The matter-of-fact writing that appealed to me in that devotional carries over into her blog, and I particularly enjoyed her recent mini series on friendship.
  • And then there's an NF site that I frequent, because, well... that's kind of obvious, no?  It's not updated very frequently, but occasionally there is updated research or information on local conferences.  Currently they're pushing for more people to join the NF Dream Team which, coincidentally, is a fundraising team that runs all levels of endurance races to raise money for NF research.  Len and I have been toying with the idea for a few months now, but still haven't made a decision.  We shall see...
Happenstance is a good thing.  Who knew that Tim Challies reads the blog of some people who just happen to also know Lydia Brownback?

Not me!
But now I do.
And so do you.
You're welcome.

  1. a poodle skirt would totally suit you! of course you'd need the saddle shoes to go with it.
