Earthquake?

Today, an earthquake registering 5.5 on the Richter scale rattled around the Quebec/Ontario border and cause no shortage of excitement and heart stopping moments.  For those that felt it, at least.  Most of us at work didn't feel it, though we did look with a certain measure of scorn at the one gentleman who was convinced there was an earthquake.

We had no trouble at all scraping that egg off our faces.

At any rate, I haven't heard anything about loss of life or really significant damage, so I'm going to join with the rest of good-natured Canadians and poke some fun.  Mostly by quoting some of the responses I've found online from various sources that I found particularly amusing:
  • “Ottawa government buildings evacuated. Productivity unaffected.,” one  post said.
  • There was even an opportunity to take another shot at the controversial $2-million man-made lake created for the G20 summit in Toronto: “Tsunami alert issued for fake lake!” one poster wrote.
  • “Be reassured,” someone named Paul-AndrĂ© wrote on the Radio-Canada website. “It's just Quebec separating.”
  • Even Mother Nature is protesting the G20 fiasco.
Funny! :)
