Even though it was snowing in Calgary yesterday, it was HOT here. Dawn and I got up bright and early to head out. She got us both Detroit Tigers shirts, so we were hardcore and matching while we ran!
The course was very beautiful! We ran through some Halton farm country, and by farm country I mean hills. Hills without a lot of shade. We walked a lot, and ended up coming in last, but my chip time was still faster than my first 5K, so I can't say I'm too bothered! It was nice just to run together and chat while we were walking and catching our (read: my) breath. Here we are approaching the finish line:

And here we are with our medals!Red-faced awesomeness, baby!!
I can't tell you how awesome it was to run this race with you! I am SO GLAD that it was the weekend we'd planned for me to come visit!
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful woman, Thelma. You were fantastic, and I was proud to run beside you. YOU inspire ME!
Love you.
T- so awesome that you two could do this together!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I came in last (along with hubby and my cousin) at my first 5K in April - which was pretty much all walking). This running stuff is hard but you are amazing!
