Hopeful Thanksgiving

Yesterday, my parents had a wonderful day. Knowing that they had an early afternoon appointment to review the results of last week's CT scan, they decided to geocache on their way into town.

After two (two!) first-to-finds on newly placed geocaches, Dad decided it was a positive sign for the rest of the day. And, praise the Lord, he was right!

Their appointment was very positive. The CT scan showed that the cancer was limited to the muscle of the esophagus; the liver and lymph nodes were clear! And from what the doctor could see, it appears the cancer cells are not of an overly aggressive or dangerous nature. What joyous news!

It is still cancer, of course, meaning that surgery and other forms of treatment are still in my mother's immediate future but it is amazing to have hope that, if it be the Lord's will, she can beat this!

Thank you so much for your prayers... we continue to covet those prayers. But today, please join us in lifting up praise and thanksgiving to our Almighty God!
