My Favourite Things: Monday

I'd like to start this week with a show of hands.  How many of you raise your hands saying that you regularly check in with The Pioneer Woman will determine how I introduce this week's favourite thing category.  If none of you raise your hands, this idea is entirely mine and is not at all inspired by P-Dub's latest photography challenge.  If many (or some) of you raise your hands, she got the idea from me.

Either way, I should be covered there, right?  It's early on a Monday morning.  Sometimes these details are a little unclear.

Category: favourite four-legged animal.

I happen to be choosing an animal that lives in my house.  Don't feel like you need to do the same.  Mine, however, was sitting on my lap when I asked her what I should choose and gave me a look that threatened all sorts of trouble if I didn't choose the obvious.  I'm very obedient.  She spends hours alone here during the day... I'm pretty sure most of that time is on the Internet.
She's a good girl.  She's mellowed a lot since her psychotic kitten years.  Back then we dubbed her 'Smasher' because she couldn't run into a room without hitting a wall.  Now she thinks she's part dog, part human and all cat.  Math may not be her strong suit.
I think she's beautiful, a sweet cuddly friend and she smells good.  Trust me, I check.  She lets me scoop her up and carry her about.  She visits me in the bathroom... well, actually that one I could do without, but I'm not sure she'd go for it. She thinks we pour drinks into glasses and cups for her benefit.  She loves banana bread.  And roast beef.

She can be regal and aloof when she needs to remind us she's a cat and doesn't need us, though I'm pretty sure she's reminding herself at the same time.  She's distinctly feminine which was much more obvious when Brady was around, very light and dainty when she needs to be.

I know the readers who could easily do without any animals have either rolled their eyes and clicked to another blog by now, but I love my girl.  She's a big part of the fun around here.  It does my heart good when we're all tucked into bed with the lights out and The Len softly says, 'Good night, family.'

And she misses Brady:

Can't wait to hear about yours.  Nor can Sacha.
And you know she'll be on here later...

Awwww I am more a dog person than a cat person, but I still love them. And Sacha is beautiful! I didn't realize that Brady was a big big boy!

wv: pneackle (this HAS to be one of my favoriteS!)

Sacha is a very pretty little lady! I love that she gets on the internet. I wonder if mine do, too? They're pretty smart... except for Casper. ;) I'm working on my MFTM, but hope to have it posted soon.

Such a sweet picture of her and Brady at the window. I have one like that of Luna and Squeaky. I'm wiling to bet she still misses him after 3 years, too. She's never loved any of our other cats as much as she loved him. Nor have I. ♥ My heart still hurts, and I know yours does, too. (((T)))

WV: pedianic (someone needs to come up with a def for that one!)

cute pictures - love the one of Sacha and Brady at the window, very cute!
My favourite four legged animal ... well, we don't have any pets, but I used to have a dog - Tess. She was a border collie cross ??? dumb as all get out, but loved me! She loved other collie's and would go beserk with firecrackers, every Halloween time I think of her and how she used to roam the house crying looking for a place to get away from the sound. She was a good hairy dog and one day I hope to have a dog to share with my kids - it's good to have pets!

Thelma, be ware you do'nt spoil Sacha too much. Your her servant, you know. We train dogs, cats train us. Sacha sure will miss Brady, just like you two do. She knew he was around when she came in the family as Len say.
But is is nice to have pets around you, i love my cats and dogs and spoil them too.
