This week's featured recipe is the BBQ Pulled Pork. As I'm making all of these recipes, I'm having to make slight adjustments for ingredients you can't necessarily find in Canada, but so far, with success. With this recipe, for example, I couldn't find the McCormick seasoning, so I chose something similar that I thought would suit the rest of the ingredients. I think it turned out really well!
Unfortunately, once again, Len and I are on opposite sides of the taste spectrum, so hopefully on one of these recipes we'll find some common ground!
The Recipe:
BBQ Pulled PorkThe Photos:
1 package McCormick BBQ Pulled Pork seasoning
3 lbs. boneless pork shoulder roast, well-trimmed
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1. Place pork in slow cooker.
2. Mix seasoning, ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar until blended. Pour over pork.
3. Cook 8 hours on LOW or 4 hours on HIGH. Remove pork from slow cooker.
4. Shred pork using 2 forks. Return to slow cooker, mix and heat with sauce before serving.
5. Spoon onto hamburger buns and enjoy!

The Rating:
Thelma's Rating: 9/10
I found the flavour in this dish absolutely amazing. Coming home to the delicious aroma made it nearly impossible to shred the meat without drooling. The sauce was just enough to coat the meat without making the bun too sloppy or messy. I loved every bite, regardless of whether it was straight from the crock or the following day for lunch. Next time, I think I'll make some coleslaw to enjoy with it!
Len's Rating: 6.5/10
I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as Thelma did; I found it lacked flavour, texture and full-bodied yumminess. If we made this again, it would need some additional spice to increase the flavour.
The Scoreboard:
1. Nameless 'Quick & Super Yummy' - 16/20
2. Split Pea Soup - 15.5/20
3. BBQ Pulled Pork - 15.5/20
4. Crock Pot Chili - 15/20

You haven't been showing up on my blogroll for some reason so I am just getting caught up! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MINE! (hint hint)
