Two bottoms...

** children pictured below **

Yesterday we headed over to watch our nephew play soccer and then to my sister's place for dinner and my niece's birthday party.  We had dinner, hung out and generally had a wonderful time!

After dinner my sister's candle arrangement caught my attention so I took it out onto the patio table to take advantage of the early evening lighting to snap a couple shots:
Pretty Candle Arrangement
And of course, a few macro shots... (surprising, no?)
At some point, my niece and nephew came out to play on the trampoline, so I switched my camera's attention to some action shots.
R doing a flip while S looks on.
Mad ninja skillz.
Ditto.
Oh! Earlier in the evening, The Len gave the trampoline a try as well.  He appeared to be a bit uncertain about the whole ordeal:
I think at this point it's a good thing to point out that I don't have the greatest history with trampolines.  Our family had a trampoline for as long as I can remember, and it was a source of endless entertainment.  Endless for me, at least, until I broke a hand.  And then two summers, broke the other hand.  Of course, to make matters best, I broke both hands at the very beginning of summer.

However, last night I decided to give it a try.  My niece suggested that perhaps being older and wiser would play to my advantage.  Besides, R needed a little help 'cracking the egg' with S.  So up I went.
Educating R on the best way to hold his feet and survive getting 'cracked'.
At some point I needed help cracking S, so I called my sister in.  She and I are old 'Egg Cracking' experts.  When it was her turn, her husband couldn't resist hopping on to try his hand.
She did her best, but we got her in the end.  Don't we look triumphant?
At this point we decided to put our feet back on level ground and give the trampoline back to the children.  I hopped down and hobbled back to the porch on legs that felt like Jell-O.  Hands in tact, however, and having had a fun workout of laughing and jumping.
And so continued the valiant attempts to 'Crack the Egg':
Cracked!
  Or eggs... two against two.
And then J took on all the girls on his own.  He got pretty energetic.  This move looks a bit desperate!
And then we all headed in, had a delightful piece of cheesecake and the beautiful birthday girl opened her presents!
Happy birthday, sweetheart!
If you're wondering about the title of this post, it refers to the chicken burger I had for dinner, and the bun I grabbed off the kitchen counter.  I tried to swap my two bun bottoms for someone else's top but no one was game.  My sister found it quite hilarious and insisted I use it on the blog.

  5. When I was in high school, I had hours of fun on a friend's trampoline. Until I got bounced off and landed flat on my back. Actually, at the time I thought it was hilarious (I wasn't hurt at all) but then I started thinking about what *could have* happened -- landed on my head, broken my neck, etc. -- and that ended my trampolining days.
