In a category of bliss all on its own: freshly laundered sheets.
My initial preference for clean sheets are those hung on the clothes line. Delicious...
This past Saturday I didn't have enough clothesline (or drying rack) to handle all the clothes and the bedsheets, so into the dryer they went:Making our bed together used to be a challenging affair. Being the owner of some fairly stringent rules about crisp, flat sheets with no bunching, I often drove Len to distraction by re-making his side of his bed to my standards. There may have been occasions where bed-making led to yelling, but that's a thing of the past. Over the past seven years, I've learned to chill about being completely fanatical and Len's grudgingly admitted that flat sheets are quite nice indeed. I believe we've reached a happy compromise (read: I got over myself).
When Sacha was a kitten she loved the whole ordeal of making the bed. She'd leap about on the mattress, generally getting in the way and being a nuisance. To be fair, the four-year old Sacha's not much different in that regard. However, Saturday night we managed to get the whole bed made before she caught on to what we were doing.

This post made me giggle...in our house, I always ask my hubby on Mondays "do you know what day it is ?"...my answer is "Clean Sheet Mondays" !! LOL
ReplyDeleteCome by and see my blog, I have something special for you and Len : )
ReplyDeleteAh, how many times have I battled a cat while trying to make the bed! They love nothing more than fresh laundry. Oh, and I must admit that I'm a bit anal when it comes to making the bed - specifically getting the fitted sheet on tightly. I pretty much have to do it myself if I want it done right! :o)
