This is not a complaint about the summer heat. It’s a little oppressive in the house most nights, but my garden is enthusiastically thriving. This is adequate compensation in my mind, so no complaining here.
I am, however, rethinking my decision to attempt this ‘longer’ hairstyle. As much as I’m grateful to be able to pull it back, I prefer the look of it down. In the humidity my hair (that currently reaches just past my shoulders) does this fun little flip; I rather like that too. And yet, wearing it down in this heat is a recipe for hair resentment.
I’ve always wanted long hair and always worn it short. I sported a bob for so long I’m surprised someone didn’t rename it a ‘Thelma’. My mother cut off most of my hair at one time due to an encounter my best friend and I had with a pair of scissors. To be fair, my friend lost a whole braid. I was only late for supper and called a boy for at least half a year while my mousy tresses grew back. There may have also been a period of disappointed silence while I perched precariously over the bathroom sink and my mother attempted to rectify the situation, but that memory is hazy. Ahem...
Short is tempting right now. I’m not thinking ‘Thelma’, either. I’m thinking Sienna Miller short. I believe the term is 'pixie'.
I am, however, far from pixie-like. Look at those cheek bones! This could be an equally bad idea.
We shall have to see...
I promise to update tomorrow with the new/same do.
I would just like to comment on the fact that Sienna Miller does not appear to be wearing a shirt. Sorry about that.
