XXVII

1. Ahh... Saturday!  As I write this I am partaking of a delicious Peach Mango smoothie.  It reminds me a bit of peach schnapps which isn't a bad thing.

2. Today I had a great day cleaning, baking, shopping and organizing.  I seem to alternate between lazy and productive Saturdays.  I can't decide which I prefer most.

3. Today we had a beautiful visitor in our backyard! I couldn't get quite close enough to take a decent picture, because as soon as I opened the back door to get closer, it flew across the back lane to perch on the neighbour's fence.  The photo also doesn't do justice to the brilliance of its colour.

4.This past Thursday my sister and I were able to head out of town to watch our nephew graduate from eighth grade!  He was the valedictorian, and he did an amazing job!  It was really special for us to be there and have a great time with family even though that time was super brief.

5. Today we had the unfortunate pleasure of needing to buy a new vacuum.  We hadn't been expecting this, so we had to make a quick decision on a vacuum that is relatively cheap and still decent quality.  We ended up with an upright Dirt Devil (though I prefer canister vacuums) that seems to do the trick.  Apparently the reason I prefer the canister style is because the amount of pet hair/dirt is not so obvious to me after I'm done vacuuming.

6. Brady greatly dislikes the new vacuum.  He spent a goodly amount of time hissing at it, and it wasn't even on.

7. The Netherlands soccer team won their second game today. I watched part of it online this morning, mostly to share the camaraderie with my father, since I knew he was watching the game on the west coast. I mostly just wanted to feel like we were watching the game together! Hup Holland Hup!

8. The smoothie is gone.

  1. I laughed about your cat hissing at the vaccuum... and I miss red cardinals. They are such a wonderful sight especially in the middle of winter with the red against the white snow...

  2. I regularly have some pairs of cardinals in my backyard partaking of the sunflower seeds. Did you know they chirp while they eat? And the female waits back in the safety zone until the male comes and feeds her by mouth. Yesterday there was a very Large Female... turns out she was holding her breath.... They are very cautious, and I haven't caught any good photos lately.
