1. Len and I are the epitome of nerds right now. We're both sitting at the dining room table fiddling away on our respective laptops (he on the home computer and me on my work computer). I was doing homework and now he's fiddling with a website redesign. I'm not sure whether this count as spending time together since we're both absorbed in our computer screens but we're pretending it does. Occasionally I reach over to kick him in the shin. Surely that counts for something?2. Sacha has an odd fascination with my laptop bag. As soon as I bring it home, she must knock it over and sit on it. I'm sure the laptop loves that.
3. Welcome to Spring. It is awesome. You should embrace it with much joy and more joy. (Those are two different things, trust me.)
4. Yesterday Len and I bought what I am affectionately calling 'Spring in a Box'; it's just a starter for my vegetable garden so I can grow the plants inside before transplanting. It has this greenhouse thing going on every time I mist the pods with water, which entertains and delights me. I am, quite clearly, easily amused. To make it Sacha-proof, it is held closed with clothes pins.
5. Speaking of clothes pins, I put the laundry on the line this past weekend. I believe that this is the earliest I have been able to hang the laundry in the history of this blog. I did, however, forget the fabric softener which made for an unpleasant encounter with a bath towel. Need I say more?
6. Speaking of my vegetable garden (ahem...) I have grand plans for its redesign. I hope to move the existing plot and make two narrower, raised beds which will make it easier for weeding, watering and other gardening-related activities. I also have hopes that the weather will be abundantly more cooperative than last year.
7. Speaking of hope, I have little left for my raspberry bushes. I fear that they have survived neither the excess rain of last summer/fall nor the winter. Sad. The rhubarb, on the other hand? Doing very well!
8. I would like to take a moment to bemoan the high price of decent running clothes. Running in tech clothes makes a huge difference, especially in the summer when cotton would just soak up the sweat and weigh you down. But good grief... must a tank top cost $50? I think not. Moment had... moving on.
9. During some spring cleaning on Saturday, I rediscovered my Magic Triangle puzzle in the spare room. I really love these. They're made in Hong Kong and it's usually by fluke if you find them in a store. My parents have an iguana puzzle if I remember correctly. I greatly enjoy them. I even took a photo on Sunday while I was putting it back together.
10. Speaking of bedtime...
I have a triangle puzzle! I got it from my SIL and it's of beetles.
ReplyDeletemy brain hurts just looking at that puzzle.
