XXIII

1. Today's Schmozzle will be all about Len and his return to school since I have been quite remiss in even mentioning. Here he is in his third week, and I haven't so much as peeped about it. Shame on me.

2. Len is taking Computer Systems and Network Technology at a local college here. It's a two year program with two co-op terms and four classroom terms (which includes going to school this summer).

3. He's loving it. He started January 11th, and his first day of school came home with three hours of math homework. I peeked over his shoulder at one point and then promptly ran away.

4. It's been a bit of an adjustment for both of us but mostly it's really good. My favourite new part of this going to school is that we get up at the same time every morning, and get to hang for a bit before both of us leave for the day. I love that time with him. Corny, I know.

5. He gets to make games. His homework for programming class is to make a new game every week; it's pretty cool stuff. One of the games was too much like math, but he made another one with bouncing balls that I didn't do very well on.

6. In terms of pain/sleep, both have been pretty good. A sudden change in the weather over the weekend affected him a bit, but not so bad that he wasn't still able to function, which is a blessing. We're praying that as February and March (typically the coldest months) arrive that the pain will continue to be manageable. Thankfully his schedule is pretty flexible, so he has enough downtime to catch up on sleep or homework as needed.

7. And so, to close, here is my man, working hard on one of his 87 math questions on his first day of school.

  1. Yay for Len! I like games, but I do not like math. I'm glad it's going well for the both of you so far.

  2. Go Len!!
I like how your cat is waiting patiently in case his assistance is needed. Wow- he does laundry AND helps with math homework?
