Day 1 - Sandboxes and lawnmowers
My first blog input. How I am feeling the pressure to say something profound.
I can't. Thankfully this isn't what blogging is about. At least I hope it's not. If that's hidden somewhere in the fine print, I will be in violation of some sort of contract, I'm sure.
Today is the last Monday of August. It is unbelievable how quickly this summer has slipped past. It's been a hot, humid, and dry summer, but it has cooled enough and dropped enough rain now so that Len is outside mowing the lawn and stirring up all sorts of allergens for me to sneeze at. Kind man that he is... :)
Work was slow again today. Spent some time researching possible freelance options with Canadian and American magazines. Today's Christian Woman appears to have various freelance opportunites on topics that I might actually have something to write about. Always useful if the topics available are somehow pertinent and known by the writer (me). Will be sending in some queries to see if they're interested in any of my ideas. Canadian Living refuses to respond to my email... we won't comment on how rude that is.
A co-worker offered us a sandbox today. It is apparently in the shape of a boat, it has a bell, but is missing the steering wheel. For someone giving away something for free, he went into similar detail that a salesperson might. We have accepted, assuming that somewhere down the road, small children will enjoy playing in it. And really, we have the sand shovel, the bucket, and the fish-shaped mold already. All we're missing is the boat-shaped box. Oh, and sand.
Quick trip after work to PetsMart to pick up catfood and M&M Meatshops for Peanut Butter Chocolate Persuasion ice cream. Food for them, food for me. No food for Len apparently.
The mowing is done. Thus ends blog#1.
